Orthodox Weddings In Bosnia
Bosnian Weddings work in cooperation with the Orthodox Church in Bosnia to allow us to arrange wedding of the following denomination: Russian Orthodox, Greek Orthodox, Bulgarian Orthodox, Serbian Orthodox, Romanian Orthodox, Montenegrin Orthodox, Macedonian Orthodox, Coptic Orthodox and other Orthodoxy.
Weddings can take place anywhere in Bosnia. Under Bosnian Law a marriage is only recognised in a civil ceremony. Following this link to read about Civil Ceremonies in Bosnia.
Main Requirements
- At least one of the couple must be Orthodox
- You must have had a civil ceremony before the wedding (usually on the same day)
- You will need your Christening Certificate (or Baptismal Certificate if you are Catholic)
- Either the Best Man or Maid of Honour must be of an Orthodox denomination.
Marriage between Two Orthodox in Bosnia
Marriage between an Orthodox couple is straightforward. Before the wedding ceremony takes place you must have completed your civil ceremony. Church documents you will need are only your Christening Certificate. In addition, either the Best Man or Maid of Honour must be of an Orthodox denomination.
Marriage between Orthodox and other Religions
If one of the couple is not Orthodox, the priest will Christen the non-Orthodox at the beginning of the wedding ceremony. Before the wedding ceremony takes place you must have completed your civil ceremony. In addition, either the Best Man or Maid of Honour must be of an Orthodox denomination.
